This morning the teenager dragged me up to London to meet James Franco who was doing a signing, I agreed as it was at my favourite book shop in the world, Waterstone's on Piccadilly, a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of central London, but today was different as it was packed due to this signing!
Anyway on the way back up to Oxford Circus tube station I insisted we walked up through Golden Square and then up Carnaby Street, as like Waterstone's I love Carnaby Street. It always feels fresh, the shops keep up to date with trends and often set the trends for retail.
My usual favourite shops were there and in Kingly court, but today another shop grabbed my attention!
It was called We Built This City, and it was packed of quirky and cool souvenirs, not a tacky souvenir shop but full of some really nice items by independent creatives! Including one or two fantastic tea pots (as a Tea addict this made me happy).
There was also some fantastic prints and mentally spent well over £1,000 by saying "oh I like that and I like this".
There was also other homewares, fantastic mugs, cups and cushions and much much more, I might have to go back and look at the Christmas crackers but see a lady looking at them and the display kept falling down so I gave that a wide birth!
If you find yourself in London over the festive period or time to kill on a lunch break if you work in London, I certainly recommend you check it out!
I wished whilst I was there I picked up a book of postcards by Beatriz Sanches, think I could put them in a nice deep frame and would look cool up on the wall above my desk!
Anyway as I said just a quick post to let you know about this fantastic little shop that has just opened on Carnaby Street!
