Being a geek is a good thing for my kids!

I am a geek (as the name suggest!), I love everything technology, if you have seen my post for The Dad Network, you will know that I have a bit of a love affair with technology.

But it doesn't stop there, I also love the internet! I was the first among friends to be on most of the social media networks, because its what I like.  If its new and a change then the chances are I will explore it and want to understand it, inside and out!

The littlest daughter is happy!

We spoke about when is the right time for a phone for the little geek previously in this post, and it looks like the right time is now!   If you have a Tween (sorry I hate that saying but it works) and have not been asked the question "Can I have a phone?" then prepare yourself as I am sure it is just around the corner! 

She is 10 going on 20, and very grown up for her age!  As such we want to give her more independence and as a number of her friends already have phones we have agreed to get Little Geek an iPhone.

It will only be the iPhone 5C, in a nice vivid pink colour!

Making your Mac safer for children...

I recently attended a chat with Mediocre Mum and Tony Anscombe from AVG, this was generally about how our children interact with the internet, as well as how to keep them save when online.

Now recently the 9 year old was lucky enough to get an iPad for Christmas, and the teenager has had a mobile phone for a few years.  It certainly did make me think about how they use their devices and what they have access to.
